Polkka provides meal, hospital cleaning and housekeeping services as well as transportation under the ownership of the joint municipal authority Siun sote, the cities of Joensuu, Kitee and Nurmes, and the municipalities of Heinävesi, Ilomantsi, Tohmajärvi and Liperi. We produce about 20,000 meals a day, and the surface area of the facilities we keep clean totals approximately 530,000 square metres. Polkka’s annual turnover is roughly EUR 65 million and the company employs around 800 people. We operate everywhere in North Karelia with our main office located in Joensuu.
We prepare meals for schools and day-care centres in Joensuu, Kitee, Heinävesi, Ilomantsi and Tohmajärvi as well as care homes and hospitals around North Karelia. The Siilainen and Tikkamäki units are responsible for our largest production volumes.
We provide cleaning and sanitation services at the central hospital and care homes and hospitals in the region as well as at schools, day-care centres, agencies and cultural sites in Joensuu, Tohmajärvi, Kitee, Ilomantsi and Heinävesi.
